Impulse was founded in 2005 by Mark Lopez as a first time project, with the help of Mark Swanson and John Keskinen doing a jam at Sonny's Tavern in Springfield Oregon as the first time any Live Music had been played at Sonny's Tavern . I was the only Rocker in a bunch of Bluegrass Americana guys just trying to learn music singing with Amber Johnson when Dana walked in with a few people and his Wife Melissa. I was singing Wanted Dead or Alive and did Run to You along with Amber and Dana asked Amber if we were in a Band, She said no so Dana wanted to meet me and we talked for a few minutes about Music and I was interested in starting a band so it began. Dana was previously in a Country Band named Switchback and wanted to do more Rock and Roll and Variety so we did. Mark, never being in a Band before and only played in Church had a passion to make people dance, sing, laugh and smile as music is the universal language and went through a few members trying to find the magic combo and after achieving that With Dana Sanford, Richie Styles, Tom Wade, Amber Johnson, Mark left the band for personal reasons and after almost 3 years decided to try and kindle the magic again in 2012 but, work and life happen and in 2016 with my beautiful wife Vel Lopez, HERE WE ARE!!!!
2026 Brought a renewing of the Band after playing guitar for Brian Hanson Band 2025.
