Bend Speedfest 2

The second annual SpeedFest is back at Silver Moon on Friday, Sept. 25, and it brings together 16 bands from across the American West for the small but passionate group of people out there who love music that is as fast and heavy as music gets. There's Casket Mush, Sulfuric Cautery and Happy Pill Trauma from Los Angeles. Trucido from Dallas, Texas. Exogorth and Quitter from Seattle. Necrotizing from Boise. Plus Lacoste's own band, Weapon World, and a handful of others from Portland and elsewhere. See description of each band and the schedule at which they will each appear below:

Bob plant
About the Artist: Bob Plant is a three-piece mincecore band playing raw, abrasive grindcore characterized by ultra-short songs, distorted intensity, and extreme vocals.

Sulferic cautery
About the Artist: Sulferic Cautery plays brutally fast, abrasive grindcore with goregrind and death-metal intensity. Their sound is built around blast-beat-driven aggression, harsh vocals, and extreme underground metal energy.

Happy pill trauma
About the Artist: Happy Pill Trauma is a Los Angeles-based two-piece grindcore/grindviolence band built around furious guitar, drums, and shared vocals. Their music is abrasive, fast, and intensely raw.

Krylon
About the Artist: Powerviolence / Hardcore. Incredibly abrasive, hyper-fast punk that abruptly shifts between blindingly fast thrash tempos and heavy, sludgy, down-tempo breakdowns.

Fake dust
About the Artist: Fake Dust is a Portland, Oregon grindcore band known for furious, technically precise extreme metal that blends raw grindcore with powerviolence, crust, and death-metal intensity.

Family vacation
About the Artist: Family Vacation plays raw, fast-paced powerviolence rooted in hardcore, with a crushing dual-bass attack and grindcore/fastcore intensity.

Byakuias revenge
About the Artist: Tactical Fastcore / Powerviolence. Hailing from Southern California, this three-piece bass-and-drum outfit plays breakneck-paced fastcore. They are also known for infusing their branding and track concepts with heavy references to 2000s anime and gaming culture.

Exogorth
About the Artist: Exogorth plays raw, abrasive grindcore driven by blast beats, harsh vocals, and fast, chugging riffs, with powerviolence and sludge influences.

Homegrown
About the Artist: Homegrown is a Gothenburg, Sweden instrumental heavy-psychedelic rock band. Their music centers on fuzz-heavy, groove-driven jams that blend stoner rock, progressive rock, folk, and krautrock influences.

Quitter
About the Artist: Quitter is a four-piece, genre-fluid rock collective with an independent, DIY approach and an energetic live-show focus.

Fast bender
About the Artist: Fastcore / Grindcore. True to the name, they specialize in ultra-high-velocity extreme music where songs often clock in under a single minute. Expect relentless blast beats, buzzing guitars, and raw, chaotic vocals.

Wretched self
About the Artist: Wretched Self is a two-piece Reno, Nevada act playing abrasive grindcore rooted in crust punk, hardcore, and powerviolence.

Trucido
About the Artist: Trucido plays ferocious grindcore: ultra-fast blast-beat drumming, abrasive guitar riffs, harsh vocals, and a chaotic, relentless extreme-metal attack.

Group think
About the Artist: Group Think plays abrasive, high-speed grindcore rooted in hardcore punk, with an intense extreme-metal sound.

Weapon world
About the Artist: Weapon World is a Bend, Oregon grindcore and powerviolence act delivering frantic blast beats, jagged dissonance, and chaotic, hard-hitting arrangements. Their extreme sound incorporates unexpected hip-hop and movie samples.

Ectopic pregnancy
About the Artist: Ectopic Pregnancy plays abrasive extreme hardcore rooted in grind, slam, and powerviolence, delivering fast, heavy, intensely aggressive music.
