I'm a lifelong music lover, web developer, and graphic designer who finally decided Central Oregon needed a free place off social media where people could easily discover local shows, meet fellow music fans, and share the memories afterward. 💕
I've spent countless nights enjoying everything from live music and theater to comedy, karaoke, and community events. One of my favorite things is introducing friends to new bands, introducing live show lovers to others like themselves, and helping local artists get the audience they deserve.
When I'm not tinkering with this forum (which has become a bit of a passion project 😄), you'll usually find me out at a concert, sometimes taking photos and videos, working on a creative project, or spending time with friends and my flock of four very opinionated conures.
The "Classy Collective" texting thread was made real about a year ago, but the idea had been bouncing around in my brain for much longer than that. The first photo I posted here is one wonderful night where we all came together via the text thread and enjoyed live music: a memory I hold so dear to my heart.
But as we all know, texting threads are inherently limited.
My hope for this online community forum is simple: that it becomes a friendly place where people feel comfortable discovering new events, meeting new friends, supporting local performers, and sharing photos and videos from great nights out. 🥰 Central Oregon's live scene is so special, I believe deeply that it deserves this sort of space.

I cannot get over the range of eclectic styles within the live acts in Central Oregon. My favorite acts to dance to are rock cover bands -- like Dad Bods -- but I enjoy everything from folk, country, classical, jazz, and all the wonderful shades in-between. My boyfriend Brett and I (seen below) love dancing together, especially to country. One of my absolute favorite venues is River's Place, as is seen in my first attached photo below, and the Elk's Lodge, which features the kinds of couples dancing that Brett is so well-versed in.

📅 Creating a Calendar Event:
- Anyone is welcome to create a Calendar event.
For ease of searching:- For Unique Events: keep the Event Title and Topic Title the same.
Keep both Artist and Venue in the Post Title.
Put the full address in Location.
End time may be just a guess if unknown.
- For Recurring Events: use Series and Date as the Topic Title (e.g. "Munch & Music – July 30").
Use the Event Title to describe that week's performers.
- For Unique Events: keep the Event Title and Topic Title the same.
- Please post in the appropriate Event board: Theater | Comedy | Music or one of the recurring Event boards.
- Every calendar event automatically creates a discussion topic where everyone can:
- Post event details
- Coordinate meet-ups
- Ask questions
- Discuss the event afterward
- Share photos & videos

- Videos larger than 10 MB should be uploaded to YouTube (making them Unlisted is perfect if you don't want them publicly searchable). Simply paste the video link into your post -- see image below -- and the forum will embed it automatically.

Munch & Music Summer Event '26 / Re: M&M - July 16
Last post by Coral - Jul 24, 2026, 06:49 PMBrett and I went to this one, and we met friends Caty & George (part of our lil' Collective), Chad Koeller, and Sonja Haaby! I so wish I had remembered to take a video or a picture. This band was PHENOMENAL! Tight and eclectic, they did both originals and covers in true bluegrass form.

- Joel Chadd is a local Oregonian folk Americana songwriter whose music lives in the space between quiet reflection and shared experience. Rooted in thoughtful storytelling and warm, melodic arrangements, his songs invite listeners to slow down, lean in, and recognize themselves somewhere in the lines.
Influenced by folk and roots traditions while embracing a modern sense of dynamics and texture, Joel's writing explores love, distance, change, and the subtle moments that shape how we understand one another. His live shows—performed solo or with a full band—move naturally between intimacy and lift, creating a listening-room atmosphere that still feels alive and communal. - Larry And His Flask is known for their explosive energy, heartfelt songwriting, 3 part harmonies and an unmistakable sound that blends Punk Rock energy with the soul of Americana.
The band began in Redmond, Oregon in 2003, formed by brothers Jeshua and Jamin Marshall. Shortly after, they were joined by Ian Cook on guitar, and the three set out on a rough and rowdy DIY adventure that sparked the steady evolution of the band's sound.
Starting as a punk band they transformed into a gritty, acoustic street-performing ensemble, and eventually into a well-oiled, harmony-driven beast—combining elements of folk, bluegrass, punk rock, and ska. Gaining acclaim from the New York Times, Rolling Stone, Paste Magazine, etc.
Their music is packed with breakneck banjo riffs, catchy horn riffs, anthemic choruses, and lyrics that speak to the struggles and joys of life on the fringe. With a deep commitment to authenticity and pedal to the metal attitude, Larry and His Flask defy genres and expectations.

Munch & Music Summer Event '26 / Munch & Music - July 23
Last post by Coral - Jul 24, 2026, 03:35 PMThis week's Munch & Music features a Queen cover band called Queen Mother hailing from Seattle, and TWO opening bands called Bahuru and Baduku Marimba Band. Below is a description of all three bands:

- Bahuru is a 15-member Zimbabwean marimba band, composed of middle and high school students. Bahuru has established a reputation for their wonderful, energetic performances in Washington's Mid-Columbia region. The name Bahuru is from the Zimbabwean translation for big marimba, marimba huru, contracted to simply Bahuru.
- Baduku Marimba Band is the newest member of the Tri-Cities Steel Band Association. Its members are middle school-age kids! They went on their first tour in the summer of 2012, and the name Baduku came about because the older band, Bahuru, is a mashup of Marimba and Huru (big). Duku means small in the Shona language of Zimbabwe and since the band is smaller and younger, it became Baduku for "small marimba".
- Queen Mother pays tribute to Queen's music in the space where it belongs, live on stage. Hailing from Seattle, Queen Mother harnesses the Northwest's best talent to bring these epic songs to life, including Under Pressure, We Are the Champions, Bohemian Rhapsody, and many more. With each show they make the whole room a stage, hoping to draw out your inner "Freddie."
